As part of Berklee “Nu-Vintage American Songbook” showcase, The Garden of Joy performed a special feature during the concert! The medley consists of a Hunter and Colescott vocal duet on ‘Rockin Chair’ and a horn feature tune on my arrangement of the ‘Monsters’ Inc Theme’.

I was honoured to be given this feature as part of our arrangement of one of my favourite jazz tunes; ‘Panama’. Playing in New Orleans was such a special experience and we all can’t wait until we head down there next!
'Space Captain' by the Mad Dogs and Englishmen Ensemble @ Berklee
Under the guidance of acclaimed studio musician Marty Walsh, the ‘Joe Cocker’ ensemble at Berklee paid tribute to the great Mad Dogs and Englishmen album tour at the David Friend Recital Hall this year. This 14-piece band includes some of Berklee’s finest up-and-coming instrumentalists and vocalists.

In the Fall of 2019, the Berklee College of Music commissioned the The Garden of Joy to perform with one of their most distinguished musicians and long time teachers; Phil Wilson. To thank Phil for over 50 years of musical and educational contributions to the jazz community as a whole, Berklee invited him to accompany us on our arrangement of the jazz standard ‘It’s A Sin To Tell A Lie’ on Phil Wilson Day (December the 9th). The Garden of Joy reunited for a brief stint in the beautiful city of New Orleans this summer! One major highlight of our trip was the opportunity to play live on air on Nola’s most famous radio station; WWOZ! Thank you Leslie Cooper for being the driving force behind making this happen. We hope to be back soon with more music to inject into the thriving New Orleans scene.

The newly formed Garden of Joy Collective, led by Colescott Rubin on bass and Hunter Burgamy on guitar. 2019 is holding plenty of good times and great gigs for this band and I can’t wait to share them all with you!
The Beantown Jazz Festival 2018
I had the pleasure of supporting the incredible Catherine Russell at Berklee’s own Beantown jazz fest. Such a wonderful group of wonderfully talented musicians!
